Summer has ended, all the kiddo's are back in school, and you may be thinking to yourself that the party is over! Not the case here :) Lots of weddings to plan, and lots of gatherings to attend and put on...the fun is just beginning and it should be for you too! I have a couple of new "sweet" ideas that I found from fellow bloggers and such online. The first one is taking a marshmallow pop, almost a candy buffet staple now, and making it into a marshmallow candy corn! It is really cute and sure to make any fall party a hit! All you really need for this one is Marshmallows ( regular or camping size), pop sticks, and candy melts (you can buy from Michaels). At Michaels they have a white and orange color. You can also add food coloring to make it a desired shade if you wish!
As always, Happy Planning!
We specialize in creating the candy buffet of your dreams! Serving the greater Cincinnati area.

Homemade Sweets!
Since starting blogging, I have been constantly on the hunt for candy recipes that are relatively easy to make at home. Kind of "fool-proof" recipes so that everyone can enjoy making desserts and candy!
One such recipe I found recently was from a blog called "Not Without Salt". This recipe is archived and the type of candy is extremely popular with all of my candy buffets this year! It is called Apple Pate de Fruit. These candies are traditionally French and the consistency is much like hardened jam. Pate de Fruit, whichever fruit you choose is wonderfully chewy, and sugary; much like the fruit slices you buy at the grocery store.
Check out the full recipe at "Not Without Salt"!

Black, White, and Green with a hint of Zebra!
Happy Monday to all my sweet lovers :) Today is a great day not only because it is a fresh new week, but also because CandyShopBuffets just got it's pictures back from it's first promotional buffet! The theme for this buffet was black, white, and green. It has a modern look and faux diamond accents to match her dress! When Mirande first won the promotional buffet, she also told me that she was planning on having a zebra theme as well. I incorporated it as part of the candy buffet and it turned out gorgeous! All of the accents were made by hand, and add a unique style to the candy buffet. Here is a great example of our candy buffets, we hope you enjoy!

Chocolate Covered Sweets!
Almost anything dipped in chocolate I would consider amazing! Chocolate covered pretzels, strawberries, marshmallows, peanuts, bacon?-(apparently this is a newer phenomenon ;)), and the list goes on. The one thing that did not cross my mind when looking at chocolate dipped goodness, is cherries!
Here is a recipe I found recently for chocolate dipped cherries. Chocolate dipped cherries are a unique twist on the traditional strawberry, and can be used to mix up your dessert buffet a little. The best part about unique sweets is they are super easy to DIY, so check out this recipe and get ready to try it at home!

Children's party pics
Here are two more pictures that we took for our children's buffet. These ones, as with the rest of them, are meant to inspire creativity! They look awesome and the best thing is that children's buffets use some of the least expensive candy--making them a fun and more cost-effective treat!
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

Sweet Soda Bar!
My blog on "Sweet Buffets" has offered advice on all kinds of sweet stuff since I started typing away a few months ago! Today I want to share with all of you the "sweet" concept of the soda bar.
I got this idea from Project Wedding's site, and it seems like a really great concept and is a fun treat for all ages!
The part that people seem to love the most is that old time soda's are generally made with real sugar cane! This gives it an added flavor and will bring you guests back to "the old days" where almost every soda was made from sugar cane.
If you are having trouble finding them, look at your local specialty store. Places like Jungle Jim's, World Market and online specialty stores carry them as well!
Definitely mix up the variety of soda's when trying to choose which sodas to buy! Buy different colors, different bottle labels and brands, and different flavors. You want your guests to feel like their soda is unique!
If you want the color of soda to match your wedding, buy several different labels and try to find 2 different soda's in your color, so people aren't bored with it. It takes quite a bit of money to put on a soda bar, and you don't want it to fall flat!
Last, customize the soda bar with hanging signs featuring the "old time soda shop" theme!

Candy buffets, as you know, are becoming a popular trend to sweeten up your events! The most popular events still are weddings, bridal showers, and kids parties! Well, just this last weekend CandyShopBuffets sent out a candy buffet for Tasha's Bridal Shower. We designed it and Sherry, Tasha's mom, set it up with some personal touches! Here are some of the great pictures her mom took!
